Our two-night Conservation Retreat takes you on a journey of discovery, immersing you in the wonders of wildlife across the Bolton Abbey Estate. From a Curlew Moorland Safari to an evening foraging walk and workshop, we’ve created an itinerary of activities that offer intimate encounters with the flora and fauna across the estate.

DAY 1:

Arrival and enjoy early check in

Gourmet, summer picnic lunch in one of our shooting houses or turf top huts

Afternoon of Curlew and Gull chick spotting on our moorland safari led by our expert gamekeeper

Evening Foraging walk and workshop with Chris Bax, owner of Bax Botanicals

Dinner in the Brasserie Restaurant

DAY 2:

Morning guided conservation and bird listening/watching walk led by local expert.

Lunch in the Brasserie

Introduction to fishing on the estate led by our expert river keeper Oscar Boatfield

A tasting supper in the Burlington Restaurant

DAY 3:

Leisurely breakfast and departure

Plus complimentary use of our spa facilities, including our state of the art vitality pool, steam room and sauna.

We’ll take care of everything throughout your Conservation Retreat, with landrover pick ups from the hotel to take you to your activities across the Bolton Abbey Estate. The retreat has been designed to be as immersive as possible, so therefore we only have 12 spaces available.
