From the natural interior touches and views across Chatsworth Park, to the seasonal ingredients we serve, our new Garden Room celebrates a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

The carefully curated menu tells a story of the land, and chef Adam Harper’s passion for local food and produce. Adam works with the gardeners at Chatsworth to select fruits, vegetables and herbs from the kitchen garden, which produces food for much of the year and features a herb garden, cutting gardens and greenhouses to extend the seasons.

Ingredients from some of the Peak District’s best known suppliers feature prominently in Adam’s recipes, including flour sourced from Caudwell’s historic mill, cold pressed rapeseed oil from Bakewell’s Brock & Moreton and pork from family-run Moss Valley Farm.

Serving food and specialty coffee throughout the day, the Garden Room is a relaxed gathering space for everyone, and walkers, riders and passers-by are all more than welcome. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Outdoor Dining

From spring to early autumn, the Garden Room’s large outdoor terrace offers fresh air and far-reaching views to enhance the menu’s seasonal flavours.

Locally Sourced, Seasonal Flavours

From the first line-caught trout in April, to the earliest beetroot crop in July, Adam has created a menu around the freshest produce.

Adam Harper

Adam Harper joined us in October 2018 after honing his craft at the Michelin-starred Fischer’s, the nationally-renowned The French under Simon Rogan, and taking the reins at Rowley’s.

During his first year at the helm of The Cavendish, Adam was placed as national finalist in the prestigious Roux Scholarship. He also influenced the hotel’s rise to five AA red star status, as well as elevating The Gallery to three AA rosettes.

Adam brings his food sustainability ethos to the fore when curating his menus, from using Chatsworth beef nose-to-tail, to forging strong relationships with local suppliers who work with him to create the best produce. His vision is reflected in the perfectly pared-back dishes he creates which celebrate the seasons and allow ingredients to speak for themselves.
