Meet the team – Cavendish Hotel

Hi everyone, my name is Victoria and I am the Senior Reception here at the Cavendish Hotel, Baslow. I have worked here for 16 years and been integral to the success of the Cavendish, helping the achievement of 4 AA Red stars. I enjoy networking within the Devonshire Group and have recently had the opportunity to take part in Stepping Up Levels 2 and 3, and hope I can make a positive difference in the future of the business using the knowledge I have gained.

Tell us about your background?

I studied Tourism Management at Leeds Beckett University and was a Pastry Chef at the Peacock in Rowsley before moving to the Cavendish in 2005 where I worked in the kitchen for 4 years before moving onto Reception.

What are your roles and responsibilities?

Day to day running of the business on a late or early shift, customer service, making reservations, liaising with other departments within the Devonshire Group and Derbyshire Properties, supporting junior staff members and managing group reservations for tours and events.

What do you enjoy most about being a part of the team?

I enjoy being around people and working towards goals together, the sense of achievement when everyone has contributed towards something is special. I often think of the Cavendish Team as my second family, there are long standing and new team members, we embrace each member - I think we are a dynamic and supportive team.

Fun fact about yourself or any hobbies?

I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie; walked up the highest summit in the Atlas Mountains, completed a tandem sky dive, zip-wired in North Wales, White Water Rafting in South Wales and have two horses.
