Discover Chatsworth untold stories in this intimate, behind the scenes tour. An expert guide will lead you behind the closed doors of Chatsworth House for a detailed exploration into its winter programme of restoration, conservation and deep cleaning, sharing knowledge about the historic spaces, art and artefacts.  There will be opportunities to meet some of the conservation team and see them in action.

This behind the scenes tour has been created especially for guests at our Chatsworth hotels, inns and holiday cottages. Spaces are limited, so book early to ensure the best possible experience.

• Take in some of Chatsworth’s best-loved rooms, including the Painted Hall, the State Apartments and the Sketch Galleries. (Route may change depending on the conservation work being undertaken)
• Learn about Chatsworth’s role as a working estate, its legacy and its stewardship.

Available dates and tour times:

This experience is available from Tuesday 23rd January to Friday 1st March 2024. Chatsworth tours take place Monday to Friday.

Tour duration:  1 – 1.5 hours

Meeting time is 10.45 am and the tour starts at 11.00 am.

Additional information

• Tours meet at the North Gate at Chatsworth House at 10.45am.
• Each tour lasts around 1 to 1.5 hours.
• You may have the opportunity to speak with other members of the Chatsworth team.
• Tours are accessible to manual wheelchairs with a minimum of one week’s advance notice. Subject to availability.

Ts and Cs: Valid for stays from 22nd January 2024 until 1st March 2024 at The Devonshire Arms at Beeley and The Devonshire Arms at Pilsley. Prices are based on two people sharing a Petite Double at The Devonshire Arms at Pilsley or a Classic Double at The Devonshire Arms at Beeley.

Cancellation Policy: A 25% deposit is required to secure your reservation.  If a booking is cancelled by 12 noon, 48 hours prior to arrival, no further cancellation charges will apply. If the booking is cancelled later, or in the case of a no-show, the remaining balance of the reservation will be charged.
