Meet the Head Chef

Adam Harper joined us in October 2018 after honing his craft at the Michelin starred Fischer’s, the renowned The French under Simon Rogan, and leading the team at Rowley’s.

During his first year at the helm of The Cavendish, Adam was placed as national finalist in the prestigious Roux Scholarship. He also influenced the hotel’s rise to four AA red star status, as well as elevating The Gallery to three AA rosettes.

Adam brings his food sustainability ethos to the fore when curating his menus, from using Chatsworth beef nose-to-tail, to forging strong relationships with local suppliers. His vision is reflected in the perfectly pared-back dishes he creates, which celebrate the seasons and allow ingredients to speak for themselves.

The Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop

Established by Duchess Deborah in 1977, the award-winning Chatsworth Farm Shop sells high-quality produce sourced from the estate, and trusted suppliers that share our commitment to heritage and sustainability. Proud to champion local enterprise, the Farm Shop sources the majority of its products within a 30-mile radius.

Ranges include:

Traditional butchery showcasing estate-reared meat
Fresh fish from British waterways
Handmade patisserie
Freshly baked bread
Seasonal fruits and vegetables
Craft ales, specially selected wines and spirits infused with Chatsworth Garden botanicals
A café where you can try seasonal dishes with views across the estate
Plants and flowers from the Chatsworth Garden

Today, it’s something of a sensation. Showcasing the finest local produce, and now a vital part of the local agricultural community, the shop attracts over one million customers each year.

It’s not hard to see why. More than 60% of the products on sale are either produced or prepared on The Chatsworth Estate. At The Cavendish, we use the farm shop as our main supplier of produce. Gorgeous food straight from the glorious land. What more could you ask for?
