After what has been a different and difficult year, we are looking to spread a little festive cheer this December. Here we round up just a few wonderful days out in Yorkshire, for those looking to get in the festive spirit.

Embsay & Bolton Abbey Santa Train

Returning for 2020 is the annual Santa Train on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey steam railway. The station will be decked with festive lights and decorations with crackling open fires and Christmas treats on sale. Tickets include a gift for each child and a ride on the steam train, complete with festive music and elves helping to get you in the festive spirit. For those looking to treat themselves, with or without the little ones, you can even choose to indulge in a festive afternoon tea on board on selected dates! Visit their website to find out more.

The Yurtshire Arms Soup Kitchen and Ale House

Join us on the lawn at The Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa, for a luxury hot chocolate and warming bite to eat after a walk on the Bolton Abbey Estate. Our winter pop-up restaurant will be with us in to the New Year, perfect to cosy up by the log fire on a cold winter’s day, after exploring the Yorkshire Dales. The pop-up serves real ales, warming tipples and a range of light bites. For every bowl of soup sold The Yurtshire Arms is making a donation to Skipton Food Bank, which provides much needed support to the local community in these difficult times. Muddy boots and paws welcome, but not required!
