Christmas is just around the corner, so we've rounded up just a few wonderful days out in Yorkshire, for those looking to get in the festive spirit.

Embsay & Bolton Abbey Santa Train

Returning for 2021 is the annual Santa Train on the Embsay & Bolton Abbey steam railway. The station will be decked with festive lights and decorations with crackling open fires and Christmas treats on sale. Tickets include a gift for each child and a ride on the steam train, complete with festive music and elves helping to get you in the festive spirit. Christmas at Harewood House

Harewood House, one of the Treasure Houses of England, welcomes you to an immersive Christmas story this festive season! The House was built in the 18th century and has art collections to rival the finest in Britain, in addition to a rare Bird Garden and over 100 acres of exquisite gardens to explore. This festive season, Harewood are hosting ‘Upon a Christmas Wish’ where visitors can delve into a voyage of the imagination, as they recount a Christmas tale and the House reveals its magic to all those in need of whimsical wonder.

Christmas in Narnia at Castle Howard

From Saturday 13th November until Sunday 2nd January something truly magical is happening at this stately home, which is located North East of York. The magical winter world of Christmas in Narnia is waiting for you! Discover the beautifully decorated interiors and dramatic installations, and if that doesn't impress then we are sure the 25-foot Christmas tree featuring over 300 baubles will. Christmas Makers Fair at Ilkely Manor House

This magical Christmas Fair is back for 2022, from Friday 26th November to Sunday 28th November and offers a wide range of gifts and Christmas treats. There's a £1 admission fee, and its open from 10am to 4pm each day. Perfect for those unusual and special gifts.

Harrogate Christmas Fayre

A truly festive experience, the Harrogate Christmas Fayre is hosted in the town centre with entertainment, food and festive music to get you in the perfect Christmas mood. There will be an eclectic mix of local traders and more traditional European Christmas stalls. Whether you are looking for the perfect Christmas gift or an unusual bauble for your tree, you'll be sure to find it here. It's running from Friday 3rd December to Sunday 12th December, and admission is free.
