Take a stroll or even better catch a horse-drawn boat down Cromford Canal which stretches for five miles and is perfect for spotting wildlife and being by the calm waters of the canal. The northern stretch of the canal lies within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site which is a fascinating series of mill complexes.
Pack some cheese and a bottle of wine and head up to Ladybower Reservoir for sunset. The changing colours across the shimmering water is a world away from life's hustle and bustle. Simple romance at its very finest.
