The idyllic river is a hard-to-beat fishing experience, and offers a variety of fish life throughout the season including Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout and Grayling. The fish quality is some of the best in the Derbyshire region and day tickets are not sold outside of this offer, making it a truly once-in-a-life-time experience.
Start your day by donning your waders and exploring the variety of fishing spots available. The river is suitable for all types of angler, and features lazy pools to faster river runs where you can really test your skills. The Estate’s resident river keeper will also point you in the right direction for the best spots to load your rod.
Many sections of the river are entirely private, giving you ample opportunity to take in the atmosphere, enjoy the surrounding wildflower banks and completely relax and unwind.
There are charming spots dotted along the four mile stretch, where you can take some time to enjoy a delicious picnic lunch which will be delivered to you by Chatsworth.
We won’t blame you for not wanting the day to end but as the evening draws in and the sun begins to set, the river takes on a quieter tone. As you cast your fly for the final time; with beautiful views of Chatsworth House in the distance, you can quietly watch the resident herd of deer as they leisurely feed by the river-bank.
