Join Chatsworth for an evocative exploration of childhood and parenthood through the ages.
This event, led by Chatsworth's Archive and Library team, will allow you to get up close with some fascinating examples from the Chatsworth collection, including Devonshire family memories captured in photographs, exercise books, school reports, and letters penned by and to children, alongside diaries and accounts of the schoolgirls evacuated to Chatsworth during World War II.
You’ll gain insights into the lives of governesses and nannies entrusted with the care of elite families' children, and navigate the depths of loss with poignant letters and diaries concerning childhood mortality.
