The Priory Church of St Mary and St Cuthbert is a thriving and welcoming community, committed to worship, witness, and hospitality to all.
Words, music, silence, colour, architecture – all these can help to make worship a transforming Communion experience, and they all make a significant contribution to worship at Bolton Priory.
On Sundays, worship is rooted in the tradition of the Book of Common Prayer, sometimes supplemented (especially at the major festivals of the Church’s year) by the very best of the Church of England’s modern liturgical provision. In this way, like the ‘householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old’ (Matthew 13.52) the whole of our Church of England tradition is honoured. Baptisms and weddings are all conducted using liturgies in contemporary language, and Liquid Family Worship is informal.
You are welcome to join in worship, including at Holy Communion each Wednesday and Sunday, alongside Sung Eucharist every Sunday. You can find details and times of all events at the Priory Church in the events section of their website.
