Hannah Crosdale, Meet the Team, Wedding and Events
Hannah – Group Wedding & Events Manager

Having always loved planning and organising, I begin my career back in 2015 by first completing a degree in Events Management at the UKCEM, Leeds Beckett University. Following a successful placement year at PEEL Entertainment at Broughton Hall, this launched me into the industry, ready for the next chapter. I then started working for various properties within James’ Places as a wedding coordinator before moving to The Devonshire Fell in 2016. Now three and half years in, I oversee the Wedding & Events department for all three of our stunning Yorkshire properties and have two fantastic coordinators in my team who help coordinate your special day.

Top Tips…

  • By the time your wedding is here, you should feel calm and ready! The key to this is to get things done early and ticked off your list. Book the photographer after you have secured the venue, start looking at ideas for dresses, themes and flowers and the rest will work it’s self out. This also ensures you don’t have a last minute spending spree!
  • The purpose of your wedding day is of course to celebrate your marriage together but don’t forget about your guest’s experience too! Consider including personal touches which make them feel part of your day. From a photo booth and casino tables after your meal to a personalised table plan with a Polaroid photo of each of your guests – they notice these things and will remember your day as being the best wedding they’ve been to!
Jody Holden, Meet the team, wedding and events
Jody – Group Wedding & Events Coordinator

From a young age I have always loved organising events, so throughout my high school years, I put together fundraisers, raising thousands of pounds for charities close to my heart. This then followed on by me being made head girl in my final year at high school, and planning the leaver’s prom on my own alongside my GCSEs. When I left school I took my passion to the next level, starting a hospitality apprenticeship with Craven College at The Coniston Hotel. In my time here I developed my skills and passed my apprenticeship before moving on to The Devonshire Hotel Group in March 2020. In September I will begin my events management degree to further enhance my skills and knowledge alongside gaining further experience in hands on work.

Top Tips…

  • Your wedding is such a big day in your life, so take your time in planning it. Put together a wedding planning schedule and do things one by one in a logical order, so you don’t take too much on and take away from what it is all about. If you aren’t sure which order you should do things in, don’t be afraid to ask your wedding coordinator for some guidance and support.
  • If you have a tight budget, use your family and friends to help. Do you have a keen baker in your family? Ask them to make your wedding cake. We all know somebody with incredibly neat handwriting – ask them to write up your table plan and place cards. There is no need to spend a fortune, sometimes the personal touch makes it all the more special!
