Devonshire Hotels and Restaurants Group has partnered with Hospitality Action for a number of years, first raising funds for the charity with a sponsored bike ride from Bolton Abbey to Chatsworth in 2018. This year we are delighted to be taking part in the charity’s newest quirky fundraising campaign, Invisible Chips. Fronted by well-known faces and hospitality heroes Fred Sirieix, Heston Blumenthal and Tom Kerridge, Hospitality Action hopes to grab the hearts and minds of consumers by using the nation’s favourite side dish to raise funds!

With the closure of hospitality venues during lockdown, and the newly introduced 10pm curfew for pubs, bars and restaurants in a bid to stop the spread of Covid-19, many working in the industry face the risk of redundancy and poverty. Invisible Chips are now available in all of our restaurants, and over 200 across the country, and are a simple way for you to donate to the charity to help our colleagues in the hospitality industry who may be struggling. By ‘chipping in’ and adding a portion of Invisible Chips to your order you are choosing to donate either £3.00 or £5.00 to Hospitality Action, with all of the funds helping those in the hospitality industry who have been affected by covid-19.

Managing Director, Richard Palmer, commented “There has never been a more challenging time for hospitality, which makes Hospitality Action’s work even more essential. We’re proud to be able to contribute as they continue to use funds raised to support hospitality households to recover from the impact of the pandemic.”

Hospitality Action is the trade charity for the hospitality industry and has been helping hospitality people in crisis for more than 180 years. Today, it provides financial, physical and psychological support to help beneficiaries overcome adversity and get back to work as quickly as possible. For those unable to return to work it supports them as they transition to the next phase of their lives. In addition, its Employee Assistance Programme supports industry professionals by providing specialist, independent and confidential advice, support and assistance, 24 hours a day, 365 days per year which employees of Devonshire Hotels and Restaurants have access to.

So next time you visit, we encourage you to ‘chip in’ and buy a portion of Invisible Chips, and help to support hospitality families in financial crisis.
