Chatsworth
First on our list of things to do in the Peak District with dogs is Chatsworth aka Chatswoof. Located in the heart of the Peak District this 1600 century stately home welcomes well-behaved dogs to explore Chatsworth’s historic Gardens and surrounding parkland, although they do ask that dogs are kept on a lead at all times. The park is free, however tickets to explore Chatsworth Gardens are £15.00 per adult.
Crich Tramway Village
Be transported back in time atCrich Tramway Village, home to the National Tramway Museum located just outside of Matlock. This Peak District dog friendly activity can see you and your dog enjoying rides on vintage trams from 1873 and taking a stroll down a period village scene which has a working pub where you can also grab a bite to eat. Why not stretch your legs through the woodland walk and sculpture trail, peak into the mine at Wakebridge or check-out the breath-taking views of the Derwent Valley.

Peak Village Shopping
The perfect haven for dogs and their owners to take a relaxing break and stroll around the 15+ shops the village has to offer. With a wide range of shops, it means there is something here for everyone, even your pooch! As located in Peak Village is Barks and Co a top dog shop, specialising in dog accessories from everything from collars to chew rings, bowls to balls and a selection of natural treats.
The Heights of Abraham
Next why not go sky high with your dog at The Heights of Abraham, allowing you to travel along the side of the Derwent Valley in their dog friendly cable carts. Once at the summit there are endless opportunities for pooch pics looking out at the views of the surrounding valley, as well as a dog friendly Café and restaurant terrace. You can walk around the 60 acre estate and enjoy the Waggy Tails Trail which is a 25-30 minute walk over the top of Masson Hill. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the Masson Cavern.
