Glamping in the Peak District

What is glamping?

Glamping in the Peak District is increasing in popularity, it is a great holiday option for those who love being close to nature and the great outdoors, but also like a touch of luxury to their surroundings. Glamping is a luxury type of camping that includes facilities and accommodation that are far more comfortable than traditional camping. Accommodation can come in many forms, which include yurts, bell tents, safari tents, shepherd’s huts and pods all generally tucked away in nature and off-grid. Glamping is great for a back to nature experience – cooking over fire and simply sitting quietly can be such a change to our everyday lives and enable us to fully switch off and be present in the moment.

What are the glamping options available in the Peak District?

There are a variety of glamping options near the Peak District from glamping with hot tubs to camping pod escapes to glamp sites that are open all year round.  Campsites.co.uk has over 45 Peak District glamping listings for discerning travellers to choose from, which are in or very near to the Peaks.

Some of our favourites include:

Park Hall Pods offer high spec glamping and camping pods in the Peak District with bubbling hot tubs and big views. Each of the five pods on-site comes with its own private deck and are tucked away in secluded spots away from other guests. These guys offer the best in Peak District glamping with hot tubs.

If a Yurt in the Peak District is more your thing, Secret Cloud House Holidays are your go-to. Their award-winning glamping yurts come with luxury beds, private eco loos and log burning stoves.

Peak Pods are located in the heart of the Peak District and have four en-suite pods which are perfect for couples or families and each sleeps up to four.

We also run our own glamping pop-up, Chatsworth Camping at Broomhill Wood which is located on our Derbyshire Estate and is open from June to September. Our 10 luxury bell-tents are equipped with all you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay from real beds and mattresses to a BBQ fire pit for staying cosy and a fridge to keep your favourite tipple cold. There is no roughing it required in our luxury retreats. The site offers panoramic views of Chatsworth House and the wider estate and is the perfect location to enjoy a hassle-free, back-to-nature break. We can also arrange additional add-ons for you throughout your stay such as tickets to Chatsworth House, welcome food hampers and firewood for your evening campfire. Your every need will be taken of.

Things to do on a Peak District glamping break

There are a whole host of activities to enjoy on a Peak District glamping experience with us, including:

Local places to visit such as Peak District castles, Bolsover and Peveril, the beautiful spa town of Buxton or our very own Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop where you’ll find an abundance of delicious and locally sourced goodies. These are just a few of the wonderful places on our doorstep for you to explore.

We also have walking routes galore here in the Peak District, many with traffic free trails and spectacular views. Some of our favourites include The Tissington Trail, The Monsal Trail and The Peak District Boundary Walk.

If you are an experienced fly-fisher, our glamping guests get exclusive access to 4 miles of double bank fishing on the Chatsworth Fishery. Day tickets are not available elsewhere, making it a truly once in a lifetime experience.

And, how could we not mention, simply sitting by the camp-fire, roasting some marshmallows and enjoying the kind of peace and quiet that only comes from being surrounded by nature.

Why is glamping enjoyable?

It’s good for the planet – glamping comes with all of the luxuries of a main stay holiday but it’s much kinder to the planet. Many options are completely off grid or use very low levels of energy, making them great for a carbon neutral or even carbon free break.

It’s a close experience with nature – have a holiday experience that connects you with the wildlife and nature around you, wake to the early morning bird chorus or spend an evening beneath the stars, there’s something truly magical about the simplicity of getting back to basics.

Its quality time with your nearest and dearest – without the distraction of on demand Wi-Fi, televisions and screens glamping provides the best environment for spending quality time with your camp mates. And quality time is what great holidays are made of.
