Fly Fishing

The Estate’s fishery totals some 4.5 miles of double bank fishing on the upper stretches of the River Wharf. Fishing for Brown Trout & Grayling can be enjoyed by anglers. You must hold an Environment Agency Rod License which can be purchased from the Post Office at Bolton Abbey.

To enable you to fish on the Estate, you will need a fishing permit which we can arrange for you at Reception.  If you are looking for tuition/lessons, we can organise this with our river keeper but please give us plenty of notice.  Prices are available upon request.
