At Devonshire Hotels and Restaurants Group we closed our hotels, inns and cottages in March with a heavy heart, but are happy, as always, to be putting the health and wellbeing of our guests and teams as our priority.

Please find the answers to some of our frequently asked questions below, which may help to answer any queries relating to the current situation.

1. Clean & Safe

We would like to welcome you to Devonshire Hotels & Restaurants Group with the reassurance that the safety and wellbeing of our guests and staff is always our priority. You can rest assured that we’ll be going above and beyond the strict government guidelines.

2. Free cancellations

All bookings made can be cancelled completely free of charge with our money back, no quibble cancellation policy. Applies to all stays until 31st August 2021.

3. Flexible booking guarantee

All bookings can be easily moved to an alternative date with our flexible booking policy. Applies to all stays until 31st August 2021.

All moved bookings must be taken by 31st December 2021. If the new date is at a higher rate, guests will need to pay the difference.

4. Best Rate Guarantee

You’ll always find our very best rates when you book direct online. With our Best Rate Guarantee, there’s no need to waste time looking anywhere else. We can assure you of the very best rates every time you book.

In the very unlikely event that the price you find on our website is higher than that of any other online, we will automatically match this price and provide you with a complimentary room upgrade during your next stay.

What to do:

If you find a price lower on an online travel agent’s website that is bookable online, within 24 hours of your reservation being confirmed with us, just simply take a screen shot* of the page and send it to our team at res@devonshirehotels.co.uk. Please include your name and contact details.

If the request is correct and the difference verified by the Revenue Manager, you will receive a communication from our team confirming your new rate and the gift voucher will be sent by email.

*The screen shot must include the following information:
Hotel name
Website operator
Start and end dates of stay
Price, type of accommodation and terms and conditions of the booking
It must be available to be booked on the dates requested

The lowest rate guarantee applies within 24 hours of your reservation being confirmed with us. The details supplied where the lower rate has been seen must comply with the same conditions (terms and conditions of the sale of the room, type of room, start and end dates).

I have an upcoming reservation that I need to cancel, what is the process?

If you currently have a booking with us your booking can be moved, without charge, to an alternative date or you may prefer to choose the option of receiving your deposit back as a gift voucher to use at your convenience.

If you would like to move the date of your forthcoming booking to later in the year, all you need to do is send us an email to res@devonshirehotels.co.uk. Please include the following information and we’ll be happy to move your booking, subject to availability:

1. Booking reference (if possible)
2. Hotel/inn/cottage name
3. Date of arrival
4. Preferred amended date of arrival

Can I call to change my booking?

As I’m sure you’ll understand, we’re receiving an unprecedented number of enquiries at the moment. Please note that we are responding to enquires for bookings with imminent arrivals first. Our phone lines are overwhelmed at this time but you can be confident that we’ll respond to every single enquiry as soon as possible. Please send any enquiries through to res@devonshirehotels.co.uk.

I have a gift voucher that is due to expire. Will it be extended?

We would hate for you, or the loved one that you gifted the voucher to, to miss out on your experience with us, so all vouchers due to expire between 2nd April and 30th September 2020 have been automatically extended on our system by 6 months.

When will your properties be open for business?

We continue to monitor the latest government and Public Health England advice, and can assure you that we will open as soon as it is safe and responsible to do so. Our anticipated opening date for our hotels and Inns is 13th July 2020. When we do reopen, we will ensure all necessary social distancing and sanitising measures are fully in place. In fact, we’ll be going above and beyond what is required, as we demonstrated prior to lockdown. As always, the safety and wellbeing of our guests and our teams remains paramount.

People are at the heart of everything we do, and it’s for this very reason that we count so many of our guests as friends, who chose to visit us time and time again. It’s also why we are proud to have many loyal long-serving team members throughout the group. When we are able to reopen, you’ll see friendly, familiar faces ready and waiting to welcome you to our safe, clean and dependable hotels, pubs and holiday cottages.

When are you taking bookings for your hotels and cottages from?

We are currently taking bookings from 13th July in our hotels and Inns and from 6th July in our cottages, but as above, we continue to monitor the latest government guidance.

What happens if I book a stay for July or August and government restrictions continue?

Should you make a forward booking with us that cannot be fulfilled due to government Covid-19 restrictions, your booking can be moved, without charge, to an alternative date. Or you may prefer to choose the option of receiving your deposit back as a gift voucher to use at your convenience.

What special measures will be in place once you reopen?

When we do reopen, we will ensure all necessary social distancing and sanitising measures are fully in place. In fact we’ll be going above and beyond what is required, as we demonstrated prior to lockdown. As always, the safety and wellbeing of our guests and our teams remains paramount. Once we have further government guidance, we will be able to confirm our measures in detail.

Our summertime stays offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy our beautiful estate settings. Think long walks in the grass, lingering picnics and savouring a glass of wine on the terrace whilst the sun sets.
